Tanya Roberts Tragedy

By Paul Anthony

It is tough being a celebrity because you no longer have a private life, people will watch your every move and report every step even if it means giving out wrong information about you. One of the biggest questions of the week was when did Tanya Roberts truly pass away, by now we know the answer which she passed away on January 4th which the media confirmed the next day but reports earlier said she had passed on January 3rd. We also know it was on her manager who reported the bad news despite not actually getting the exact word and just assuming. It was sad messy situation regarding someone’s life and how did we get to this point?

We know she was on a hike on December 23rd 2020, where she started to suffer pain and have difficult breathing and on Christmas eve she fell out of bed and could not breath, there she was taken to the hospital where she was put on an ventilator. Now due to the pandemic no one was able to see her. Her partner Lance O’Brien was invited to the hospital for the end of life visit in which he told her manager he was going there to say good bye and the manager took that as she was already gone but that wasn’t true. O’Brien had clear things up that she was being taken off of life support. I hope this opens the eyes of many managers that they need to get the correct and accurate information before they release any private information like this. Now many or some might be asking who is Tanya Roberts?

Well Roberts was an actress born as Victoria Leigh Blum, her career basically started in the earlier 70’s when she was doing commercials and made her film debut in 1975 in a film called Forced Entry. By 1980 she starred in the hit series Charlie’s Angles when she replaced Shelley Hack. Through the early 80’s she was in mostly B- Movies like The Beastmaster and Sheena: Queen of the Jungle, which sadly she was nominated for a Razzie for worse Actress. But By 1985 she was cast as a Bond Girl in A View to a Kill. This might have been her peak in the films but her Tv career was still going good and even stronger when she got the role of Midge Pinciotti in That 70’s Show, which she played the character for 81 episodes. her career may have ended in 2005 when she retired but she was slowing her pace before that to help take care of her husband which she married him in 1974 to 2006 when he passed away.

It has been confirmed that Roberts fell ill to a UTI that entered her organs and blood stream which also caused her to have a blood infection which was made worse due to her history with hepatitis C. She passed away at the age of 65. she was survived by Lance O’Brien, she didn’t have any children but our hearts and prayers go out to her family

Box Office Rundown 11/18/19

This past week we saw the release of three new films. The Good Liar, Charlie’s Angels and Ford v Ferrari and of the three who took number one? It was no other then Ford v Ferrari which made over 31 million, last week surprised number 1 fell to number 2 beating out newcomer Charlie’s Angels but the totals from number 2 and 3 couldn’t reach our number 1 film. We do have some movies that took a fall and lets go with Terminator: Dark Fate took the biggest fall at 6 spots and in fact it fell out of the top 10 already. Last weeks big name Dr. Sleep took the second biggest fall when it fell from number 2 to number 6 this and with what is opening this week its going to be tough for anyone to make money. Our first R rated billion dollar film Joker still is holding strong and remains in the top ten, this time it is number 8. Now this week once again we have three new films opening this week, Frozen 2, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, 21 Bridges. This week gives us a little of everything.

  1. Ford V Ferrari, 31 million
  2. Midway, 8.750 million
  3.  Charlie’s Angels, 8.600 million
  4. Playing With Fire, 8.550 million
  5.  Last Christmas, 6.7 million
  6. Dr. Sleep, 6.181 million
  7.  The Good Liar, 5.656 million
  8.  Joker, 5.635 million
  9. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, 5.247 million
  10.  Harriet, 4.780 million

Now here is my predictions for this upcoming week, now this will be a tricky week but I am giving it a shot.

  1. Frozen 2
  2.  A Beautiful Day in the neighborhood
  3. Ford V Ferrari
  4.  21 bridges
  5.  Midway
  6.  Playing With Fire
  7.  Last Christmas
  8.  The Good Liar
  9. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
  10.  Joker

Sequel Saturday presents Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle

By Paul Anthony

This weekend we have the film Charlie’s Angels coming out and right now we might not have any numbers to see how the film will do but we should go back to the year 2003 for this film and that film is none other then Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle which is a sequel to the 2000 film Charlie’s Angles. In this film like many other sequels we have a bigger budget which increased from 93 million to 120 million. The movie was in theaters from June 18th to September 26th and grossed a total of 259 million which was 5 million less then the first. the film brought back most of the cast which included Lucy Liu, Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, Luke Wilson and sadly Joey, I mean Matt LeBlanc. The one who didn’t return was Bill Murray. New cast members included Demi Moore, Shia LaBeouf and the late Bernie Mac who play Bill Murray’s half brother, which makes me laugh but anyway.

So in this film the Angels but solve a case the revolves around a former Angel gone bad, that Angel is Madison lee played by Moore. The Angels must stop her before she sells federal witness protection people to mobs around the country which would make her very rich, she even had a high ranking F.B.I official on her which she kills once she gets what she wants but before she can sell the names the Angels figure it and try to stop her with several battles between them until the end when they finally beat her. Pretty basic plot, nothing really outside of that. Now for the rest of the film, first the acting, nothing blew me away and sometimes it seemed like they were really forcing themselves to be their actors except Barrymore because we all know in her younger days she was a bad ass. The comedy was a miss big time and I know this was a action comedy but when you had Matt LeBlanc, Luke Wilson and Bernie Mac. I would expect a few laughs but I don’t think I even cracked a smile for this film. Now onto the action, the movie does live up the title of being Full Throttle because the action was there just way over the top and if they aiming to be over the top then mission accomplished but it was just not for me.

In the end I am giving this movie a C or just around 70 percent because they did miss on some thing but had a hit with other aspect of the film. Now recently when I saw trailers for the new film I was happy to see it be a reboot even happier after watching this film but then found out that this will be a part 3 but with new angels to me that worries me because in todays market if they copy what Full Throttle did then it will for sure be an flop and big budget movies been having a rough go around but we shall see!

Friday Roundabout 10/11/19

By Paul Anthony

Welcome back where we look at some stories you might have missed so without wasting time let’s get right to it. Kevin Hart has been covered a lot because of his accident that with how it is described he was very lucky to be a live, and his career was thought to be over and no longer the same as it once was, Though the accident was still bad which required him to have back surgery. Now Kevin wasted no time and got right back to work, when he went out on the promotional tour for his upcoming film Jumanji The Next level, which comes out later this year in December. I love Kevin Hart and to see him coming back this fast is nothing shy of awesome.

This next story really only popped up on the radar because his movie is a big hit and is number 1 and is predicting to remain at number 1. Joaquin Phoenix was recently in a accident involving a paramedics truck. Basically there really isn’t much here, witnesses and everyone including Phoenix himself said he basically missed judge the amount of room he had when he was pulling out and the truck just had a scratch on with his vehicle took the most damage, everyone was okay of course and they exchanged information and Phoenix isn’t facing any charges. Pretty much end of story.

Today The Charlie Angels reboot released another trailer. When the first trailer came out I have to admit I really wasn’t into this movie but now the second one is out and well basically I am slightly closer to saying I might go and see but I am still not sold on the film. I like the cast minus Kristen Stewart, but who knows she could shine in this film. The Movie is about a month away still, if they want to shine they really have to give us a little more before it is all said and done.

Terminator: Dark Fate runtime has now been revealed and it will be over two hours long at 2 hours and 14 minutes. We don’t know what story they are going to tell in this film, we do know the old crew is back in this film to give us a a good third film that we never got, though besides the last film, I thought the movies were good but never on the same level as part 2. I do hope this is the perfect amount of time to tell this story and I also hope all the hype is worth it on this film.

We are in the month of October and the Halloween franchise is back in full swing and we know we are just a year out when Halloween Kills comes out and more and more details are coming out and the next big detail we got is that Charles Cypher is returning to the franchise. If you don’t know him, I’ll help you out, he played Sheriff Leah Brackett in Halloween and Halloween part 2 but his character hasn’t been seen since then. We don’t know the details of how big his role is in this film but we will find out!
